Private Hauling Company – Collection Operations Management Specialist
The first 20 years of MSW Consultants founder Walt Davenport’s career was spent working as an employee of a national private hauling company in the Northeast and Midwest regions of the country. From an early stage of his career, Mr. Davenport demonstrated a propensity to configure efficient, profitable collection operations, both in terms of field operations and financial performance. Designated by the company as an operational turn-around specialist, Mr. Davenport served in positions from Operations Manager to District Manager in the service areas surrounding Albany (NY), Cincinnati (OH), St. Louis (MO), Quincy (IL), Philadelphia (PA), Boston (MA) and Charlotte (NC).
Achieving success in a solid waste and recycling collection system, then as now, required acute focus on customer service and maximizing operational productivity. Keeping these principles in mind, Mr. Davenport developed and implemented a proven strategy for assuring successful collection systems, including:
